ENDURE THE PAIN

Nightfall at the cruel lion’s den;

Locked in from then inside and outside

Only to sleep compacted with fellow inmates

And breath gross air from their forever non-cleaned miserable mouths

Gun fire outside the walls

Inmates gives an applause

Of what may happen, nobody knows;

Gun fire from inside the walls

Inmates gets frightened,

Cornered at one spot

Of what may happen, nobody knows

Door knocked out with explosives

Masked men in, they led us out

At a far distance, still running,

A mob of armed forces starts following

We all part ways;

Heavy chains bound to my legs,

I can’t maneuver fast

With the masked men given panga knife,

I break one and chop off one leg,

And I endure the pain;

For what I want,

Is to get back to Malawi,

I can’t endure with satafirika.
